We spent Thanksgiving at my grandfather’s cabin in Clearlake and loved every second of it. We’ve been MIA for quite a few months…there hasn’t been much to update on!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Catch Up
From May, when we camped at the Grand Canyon…briefly:
In Lompoc, celebrating Nick’s graduation. Again!
On the San Francisco Bay
In June, we said our last goodbyes to Papa as we spread his ashes along the water in the company of family, Marin Headlands, and the Golden Gate Bridge. I was amazed at how uplifting the entire process felt; we had been working toward this moment for months. Here’s a photo of the Iund family: together, enjoying the water, tolerating the wind, and happy to do one last thing for Papa.
Updates are Coming…
It’s been radio silence for a bit now, especially since Nick’s been traveling for work all week (and weekend) and the kids and I have been relaxing? surviving? in Napa while he’s gone.
And I finally uploaded pictures from my Mom’s camera so I’ve got photos to post going way back to the move! I guess it’s a sign that we’re having fun if what little photos we remember to take are months late in posting…we often get very caught up in the moment 🙂 But we’re off for a lunch date with Grandma, so photos will have to wait. Besides the blog, I do somewhat frequently (more so than here anyways) post photos to instagram.com/srspada…I don’t really bother with Facebook.
Post again soon!

First Giants Game!
Holy moly, what a game! We trekked to AT&T Park for my brother Jon’s birthday and it was an amazing night to celebrate. It was Heroes and Comic Books night at the park and Mr. Stan Lee himself threw out the first pitch. James was given a Buster Posey shirt and both kids got Romo socks with little capes on the back 🙂 But most importantly, the Giants came back in the 9th to win!!
Making a New Home
Life is incredibly idyllic right now. Everyday we walk to the park. Afterwards, we walk back and pick cherries from our tree. Nick bikes for his work commute. The Davis Farmer’s Market is Wednesday and Saturday, but if that’s not enough for you then there’s also the campus Market and hospital Market, too. And if we absolutely have to set foot in a store, around the corner from our house is a family owned store filled with organic produce and products.
Living back in Davis has actually proved rather distracting, and the moving in aspect has slowed since we’re eager to start enjoying the community. But home is coming along:
It feels good to enjoy some moments of relaxation since the move 🙂
Finally!
It’s been quite awhile since we’ve checked in! Mostly, that’s because we’ve been on the road…and then didn’t get internet until right now!
We’re almost all settled here in Davis and we are loving every minute of it. I’ll check back in soon; hopefully with pictures!
